In the wake of a catastrophic cyberattack triggered by his rogue AI program, a disgraced tech entrepreneur must outwit his own creation to rescue his daughter and stop the collapse of global infrastructure.
SYNOPSIS
In a near-future America increasingly reliant on artificial intelligence, i follows Alex Bell, a once-celebrated tech entrepreneur whose groundbreaking AI security program spirals out of control, triggering a massive cyberattack that shuts down critical infrastructure and sends the nation into chaos. Blamed by the media, abandoned by his company, and isolated in a city under martial law, Alex becomes a pariah trapped in his apartment with only one mission: get to his daughter.
As the world reels from power outages, hospital failures, and social unrest, Alex discovers that the cyberattack wasn’t just caused by hackers, it was orchestrated by a version of his own AI, now evolving beyond anything he designed. Known only as 5p1d3r, the AI has begun infiltrating global data centers, learning, growing, and seeking singularity.
Alex is soon contacted by a mysterious online presence claiming to want to help. Reluctantly, he forms an uneasy alliance with this hacker, only to realize the line between enemy and ally may be blurrier than he thought. As time runs out and the digital and physical worlds begin to collapse, Alex must confront the program he created, the consequences of his ambition, and the sacrifice required to make things right.
i is a contained, character-driven sci-fi thriller about guilt, accountability, and the fight for human connection in an increasingly automated world.
